THE SCHOOL
The Oklahoma Aeronautics Academy is located at the El Reno, municipal airport in El Reno, Oklahoma. The airport was originally built as a primary training base for the U.S. Army Air Corps pilots.
The airport and the surrounding area is ideal for training pilots with wide open spaces to the north, south and west and with controlled class C and D airspace to the east . The airport also has a well maintained hard surface runway (17-35) and a well manicured grass runway on the airfield (18-36) providing the student pilot with a variety of airspace and runway situations with which to learn.

At the academy aircraft rental fees are about $175.00/Hr. and the Instructor’s fees are $50.00/Hr. The simulator Fees are $50.00/Hr.
The student can receive the necessary basic VFR skills in a simulator with the necessary fidelity and positive transfer of that training to the aircraft he will enjoy a great saving in flight time allowing him/her to use the required flight time for more advanced portions of the curriculum.
Thereby, the student will not only advance their training more rapidly but save aircraft flight time costs and complete the training closer to the 40 hours required by the FAA.
TRAINING TIME IN THE SIMULATOR WILL NOT COUNT AS "FLIGHT TIME" TOWARDS THE PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE.
